Eğitim becerilerinin geliştirilmesi ile ilgili kursumuz 15-18 Aralık 2008'de Ankara Aldino Otel'de yapıldı. Kursa eğitici olarak Dr.Mark Gelula, katılımcı olarak anesteziyoloji, nöroloji, aile hekimliği, fizyoloji, tıp eğitimi branşlarından çeşitli hekimler katıldı. Dr. Gelula came to
DME in 1995. In 1979, he began his medical education career at the
University of Alabama School of Primary Care in the Departments of
Family Practice and Community Medicine. Subsequent experience led
him to positions at the Quillan College of Medicine at East
Tennessee State University and Texas Tech University School of
Medicine. While at Texas Tech he served as Assistant Dean for
Education and as Educational Consult and Project Evaluator for the
Texas Tech MedNet Program, a satellite and computer-driven
continuing Medical education and medical consultation system for the
largely rural areas of West Texas. Dr. Gelula has directed
continuing education for several national and international
physician specialty societies as well as several interdisciplinary

An instruction
specialist, he is Director of Faculty Development for the UIC
College of Medicine. In this role he directs the Faculty Development
Fellowship program, the Scholars for Teaching Excellence program,
and programs for the improvement of teaching for basic science and
clinical faculty, all new faculty, and residents from all
postgraduate training programs. These include programs in lecture
skills, clinical teaching "on-the-fly", feedback, small group
processes and tutoring skills. The faculty development program has a

His research interests the use of standardized health professions students, real students who portray prototypic students as an effective means of improving faculty teaching; identifying effective means to improve clinical teaching and teaching in other settings; defining the characteristics of effective clinical teachers, and optimizing ways of identifying student learning systems. Most of this research is organized as time series studies with an emphasis on effectiveness outcomes. Dr. Gelula has taught internationally in Brazil, India and Thailand,Turkey and is an active member of the Society for Academic CME, AAMC, AERA, CGEA.
